It is made from a heavy, slighty stretchy fabric that hangs just beautifully. I ordered a size up from my normal US size, but I should have ordered two sizes up to compensate for nature's bountiful endowment of my upper torso. From the waist down it's a perfect fit though and I would definitely order something else in the Lindy Bop line in the future. According to the size chart for this dress a UK size 22 is for a 40 inch waist. I ordered a size 18 (two sizes smaller than I should have according this size chart). The dress was still too large. I should have ordered a size 16; a size 16, according to this size chart, is supposed to be for a 33" waist. The fact that the size chart is off by SEVEN inches is really just ridiculous. I agree with the previous reviewer Ari Dee who said that the dress seems to be in US sizes (I usually wear a size 16 US). While this dress looks cute in the photo, when it fits you loosely, it just ends up looking like a terrible 80s/90s Prom dress. I was so excited for this dress, and now I am just really disappointed.
